Black & white

I love these black and white interiors from Laura Ashley, I didn't realise Laura Ashley was still around until I stumbled across the site via UKTV Style. I never thought I'd like a plain black and white colour scheme, I always thought it would be too stark and boring - but I think with the combination of different patterns and textures, and a splash of grey, these work wonderfully. I particularly like the bedroom.

Edgy

I love rings, forget shoes, as far as I'm concerened a woman can never have too many rings! I love these bold, geometric designs by Ariadna Calleja . She also has an interesting range of necklaces.

I love this unusual jewellery by Laura Bezant. I think it's edgy and hip and incredibly feminine - kind of like having just the right tattoo in just the right place. She designs words laser cut from leather with hand pierced silver butterflies.

Gritty coastal

I really love these images from Habitat's mini-catalogue. As well as the decor, and the settings, the styling and photography is beautiful too. Been browsing through the Habitat online store....like Ikea, I wish they'd come to South Africa *sigh*

Journal stuff

Some of my journal pages. I've been doing this journal in an old copy of The Wind in the Willows. I never read the book as a child, so it doesn't have any particular sentimental meaning for me. I got it for next to nothing at a thrift shop, and I liked the paper quality and the old fashioned cover. I was going to do it as an altered book, I guess it has ended up being an altered visual journal. The last page probably looks a bit hectic, I was in a kind of fierce mood when I did it. Mostly I'm pretty normal - I think :)

Understated elegance

I like these designer items from Net-a-Porter. I love the colours, and think they have a fabulous feel of understated elegance. The Missoni dress has great detail in the knitting patterns.
