Modern Moroccan inspiration

I love this way this house in Marrakech in Morocco is flooded with light and the way it's been given a fresh, contemporay feel. Images from NZ House and Garden.

These images are from the Riad El Fenn hotel in Marrakech. It's a rebuilt ancient fortress and the walls are a metre thick. It has six suites and three rooms, as well two pools and a spa. It's been designed in the style of a family home and artistic retreat. If I'm ever lucky enough to go to Morocco I definitely want to stay here.

A luscious way to enjoy late afternoon drinks and treats Moroccan style. (Also NZ House and Garden).

Moroccan history and culture are as rich as inspiring Moroccan traditions. The richness in color and texture is a complete reflection of the Morocco property character and charm. Such house like in the pictures keeps the air flowing through the room by placing Moroccan decor in selected areas, and spreading around the room deep and full colors that compliment these pieces. Also I like the lighting. The mood is not yet set without a magical Moroccan lantern or whimsical henna, sheep-skin lamp. Your oasis is completed by showcasing a hand-woven Berber rug, bringing in dynamic pattern and color.

Oh yes, I have been here several times. It is very lovely, if very expensive.
