At last...

Here are some of my journal pages over the past weeks. As you can see from the first page, I am excited because I finally started gym, something I have been meaning to do for ever. I donnot, I repeat donnot enjoy physical exertion of any kind, but I realise that exercise is important and I really need to make the effort. So far so good, this is my third week and I've been going 3-4 times a week. It helps that the gym is so close to my house, I can practically roll out of bed and into the gym. Also I go with a friend, and that helps a lot in terms of keeping eachother motivated.

I will leave you with this thought that a friend emailed to me the other day.
"Live your life in such a way that when your feet hit the floor in the morning, Satan shudders and says. "Oh Shit! She 's Awake!"
Gotta love it!

Once again, beautiful pages! (I am now starting to realise the importance of getting a journal with good paper - mine is a cheap litle notebook and the pages are so thin that if I paint or write on them it gets through to the back. Do you use anything special? I keep quite a few scrap books - and for that I've been using old university textbooks - all very out of date and not useable to anybody else. But blank paper journals? Can you recommend anything?

I loved the journal pages and the quote is going into my journal.

For Anairam, paint both sides of those wimpy journal pages with a thin layer of cheap fluid acrylic paint. You can even just use white or off-white as a base coat. You'll be amazed at how it sturdies them up. I put mine on with a sponge, just enough paint to spread. You want a thin layer.

Glad you liked the quote...it's very cute:)

Anairam - Sadly, I have not found the perfect blank journal. What does work well though is in most good art shops you can find the smaller spiral bound watercolour paper artists journals. For working in moleskines or thinner paper journals I usually glue a couple of pages together with Pritt and that works quite well too.
