I love these old photographs by Victorian photographer Julia Margaret Cameron. She was a pioneering portrait photographer, one of the first to start applying the principles of fine art to photography. I found the photo's here. These dreamy, romantic images make me long for white rooms with pale pink accents and possibly a hint of black or grey. They make me want to wear soft pink dresses like this, or drape myself from top to toe in Rodarte.

Right now I can't get enough of classic vintage fashion photography. These images are by photographer Tom Palumbo and were featured mainly in Vogue and Harpers Bazaar. You'll notice the same model in a few of the pictures, she is Anne St Marie, wife of Tom Palumbo, and one of the most famous models of the 1950's. She continued to model during the sixties but was not as popular. The link to Tom's Flickr page is here, you'll find many more great fashion images from the fifties and sixties.
I love fashion photography through the decades. These pictures by photographer Henry Clarke are quite exquisite. I love their elegance and simplicity, and that 1950's classic ideal of feminine beauty. I found these photo's on Flickr. Luckily I saved them on my computer because the page unfortunately no longer exists. I haven't done a fashion post for a while, so I decided to take a look at someone who dresses in a most unusual, colourful, way, and that's Italian Vogue fashion writer Anna Piaggi. Whether you like her style or not, you have to admire her courage to be her own person and stand out as an individual. As for me, I love her style, I think it's fun and exciting....but no, I wouldn't dream of following suite, not in a million years. The pictures below are of Anna attending various runway shows. The black and white photo's were taken during the seventies, in the second one she is with Karl Lagerfeld. She was one of his muses and he's produced many fashion sketches of her over the years. Her clothing collection is said to include around 2865 dresses and 265 pairs of shoes, and she never appears in public wearing exactly the same outfit. She is considered to be one of the world's foremost fashion experts, and was the subject of a Victoria & Albert Museum exhibition in 2006. I would so love to see what her house looks like.
